Essential, but not yet sufficient study
adrian mondry
(03 July 2006) NHS
At last a formal assessment of an observation that many will have made before. As such, the study is essential. It is, however, insufficient in at least three ways:
- The number of subject areas is somewhat small.
- Possible solutions for a combined search are not discussed.
- The changes in Google Scholar and Scopus are only mentioned, but not explored in depth.
As always in science, this leaves the door open to continuation of the research... Enjoy!

Some serious bias
Wouter Geritsma
(12 October 2006) Wageningen UR
In your research you have included some serious bias by slecting only journals from JCR. With enahnced search skills it should have been possible to use a larger, more varied set of journals articles for you analysis. I blogged a bit more about this at http://www.wowter.nl/blog/2006/10/some-serious-bias-in-citation-counting.html
